Six-Year MASL Veteran Brings Offensive Skill, Playmaking Ability to Lehigh Valley

Allentown, PA – The Lehigh Valley Spirits have signed veteran midfielder Willie Spurr ahead of the club’s inaugural campaign in 2026-27.

Spurr, 32, enters his sixth MASL season after turning in a career-best campaign in 2025-26 with Utica City FC, where he recorded 22 points on nine goals and 13 assists across 24 games. His offensive production helped establish him as a consistent attacking presence and a reliable playmaker.

In 81 career MASL appearances, the 6-foot, 165-pound midfielder has totaled 27 goals and 38 assists for 65 points. Over the course of his indoor career, Spurr has suited up for Utica City FC (2025-26), the Ontario Fury (2021-22), and the Tacoma Stars (2021; 2023-25), developing a reputation for technical skill and the ability to create scoring chances in tight spaces.

Born and raised in Seattle, Spurr played collegiately at nearby Evergreen State College in Olympia, where he made an immediate impact and earned Cascade Conference Newcomer of the Year honors during his freshman season in 2012.

Following his college career, Spurr transitioned into the professional ranks while also gaining valuable experience competing in the outdoor game with Detroit City FC of the United Soccer League and Lane United FC of USL League Two.

Spurr has shown resilience throughout his professional career, overcoming a significant injury that sidelined him for the entire 2022-23 season. He returned stronger than ever the following season, posting 18 points (8G, 10A) in 23 games before elevating his game even further over the last few seasons. His bounce-back performance showcased his resiliency and his continued growth as a dynamic two-way midfielder.

With veteran experience, proven offensive production, and strong versatility on both sides of the ball, Spurr becomes another impactful addition as the Spirits continue building a competitive roster for their inaugural campaign later this fall.
