Spirits Sign Kristian Quintana

2025 MASL All-Star and Ron Newman Cup Champion Brings Decade of Indoor Experience to Lehigh Valley

October 30, 2026

Allentown, PA – The Lehigh Valley Spirits have signed premier veteran defender and 2025 MASL All-Star Kristian Quintana, adding a former Ron Newman Cup champion with 10 seasons of professional indoor soccer experience to the club’s inaugural roster for 2026-27.

A lock-down presence on the defensive side of the ball, Quintana joins Lehigh Valley following stints with the Dallas Sidekicks, Chihuahua Savage, and San Diego Sockers, including consecutive appearances in the Ron Newman Cup Finals over two seasons in 2024 and 2025.

Quintana, 36, has appeared in 121 career MASL games, recording 18 goals and 14 assists for 32 points while collecting 124 blocked shots. The 6-foot-2 defender has been a consistent force defensively throughout his professional career, bringing experience, physicality, and proven postseason success to the Lehigh Valley.

Most recently, Quintana split the 2024-25 campaign between Dallas and San Diego, registering three goals and one assist for four points across 23 games. He also recorded 36 blocked shots and earned a selection to the 2025 MASL All-Star Game in Utica, New York, where he represented Team Perera.

Quintana began his MASL career with the Dallas Sidekicks, spending the majority of his professional career with the Texas-based club before joining the Chihuahua Savage at the 2024 trade deadline.

The midseason move marked a memorable chapter in his professional career, as he helped the Savage capture the 2024 Ron Newman Cup Championship. He contributed two goals and one assist for three points during the team’s postseason run, including a goal in the championship-clinching victory over the Kansas City Comets.

Following his championship season in Chihuahua, Quintana returned to Dallas for the 2024-25 campaign before being acquired by the San Diego Sockers in late February. He appeared in eight regular season games with San Diego and four additional postseason contests as the Sockers advanced to the Ron Newman Cup Finals, where they ultimately fell to his former Chihuahua club.

The Finals appearance marked Quintana’s second consecutive trip to the MASL championship series with two different organizations.

Born in Guatemala, Quintana moved with his family to Garland, Texas, where he grew up playing soccer and attended South Garland High School. He continued his career at Richland College, helping the program win an NJCAA Division III National Championship while earning All-Conference and All-American honors.

He later transferred to Texas A&M International University, where he earned Second-Team All-Heartland Conference honors as a junior in 2010.

With a championship title, All-Star recognition, and extensive postseason experience, Quintana adds another experienced option to Lehigh Valley’s defensive group as the Spirits continue preparations for their first MASL season.
